Akai Professional MPC Sample Portable Standalone Sampler
Turn a sound into a sample, a sample into a groove, and a groove into your next track. The Akai Professional MPC Sample brings hands-on sampling, sequencing and creative effects together in a compact instrument you can use without a computer. Whether you’re starting your first beat or looking for a portable companion to your studio setup, it puts the focus on playing and experimenting.
Capture inspiration wherever it happens
Record sounds through the built-in microphone, connect an external audio source or sample directly from a compatible phone or computer over USB-C. With a rechargeable battery and onboard speaker, you can sketch ideas away from your usual recording setup. Included factory content provides a starting point when you want to get straight into making music.
Chop, play and reshape your samples
Instant Sample Chop Mode helps you break recordings into playable sections, while real-time Time-Stretch and RePitch let you explore different rhythms and tunings. Tap out grooves on the responsive MPC pads, then use the three control knobs and parameter fader to shape your sounds as you play.
Add movement, texture and character
Four onboard effects engines offer 60 effect types for creative processing. Experiment with Pad FX, Knob FX and Flex Beat, or use internal resampling to capture processed sounds for further manipulation. From subtle changes to dramatic sample transformations, there’s plenty of room to develop your own sound.
Build ideas into arrangements
Use the onboard sequencer to develop patterns and combine them into songs. When you’re ready to continue in a larger setup, MPC Sample projects can open in compatible MPC hardware and desktop software running version 3.8 or later. It’s a practical way to carry an idea from a portable session into your main production workflow.
