The Shure SM4-K Home Recording Microphone brings Shure’s professional microphone engineering to home studios, content creators and musicians looking for detailed, natural recordings without unnecessary complexity.

At its heart is a 1-inch brass dual-diaphragm condenser capsule designed to capture clean, controlled lows together with smooth and detailed high frequencies. Its uniform cardioid pickup pattern focuses on the sound source while helping reject unwanted off-axis sound, while the large sweet spot helps reduce excessive proximity effect when recording vocals.

Smooth, mix-ready recordings

Shure designed the SM4 to deliver a recording that requires less corrective processing later. An internal pop filter helps control plosives and low-frequency disturbances before they reach the capsule, allowing vocals and instruments to sit naturally in a mix.

The SM4 connects via standard XLR and operates from 48V phantom power, making it compatible with suitably equipped audio interfaces, mixers and microphone preamps.

Interference Shielding Technology

Home studios are often surrounded by phones, laptops, Wi-Fi routers and other wireless equipment. Shure’s interference shielding system combines an integrated pop filter with a woven-mesh Faraday cage around the capsule to help prevent RF interference from contaminating recordings.

Made for more than vocals

Although designed with home recording in mind, the SM4 is highly versatile. Its ability to handle very high sound-pressure levels means it can be used on everything from quiet vocals and acoustic instruments through to:

Shure rates maximum SPL at 140 dB with a 1 kΩ load, rising to 145 dB with a 2.5 kΩ load, giving the SM4 plenty of headroom for loud sources.

PLEASE NOTE:

Some products are exceptionally large, heavy or bulky and require specialist freight services. This typically includes items such as large PA speakers, dual 15″ speaker cabinets, dual 18″ subwoofers, flight cases and other oversized or very heavy equipment.

We work hard to keep our prices as competitive as possible and, in most cases, delivery is completely covered by our standard shipping rates. However, for certain oversized items being delivered to regional or outlying areas, the actual courier cost can be significantly higher than standard deliveries. This is also owing to factors completely outside of our control (petrol costs and rising costs of delivery by courier partners)

If this applies to your order, we will always contact you before dispatch to discuss the available options. These may include:

Proceeding with a small additional freight contribution.
Collecting the order from one of our suppliers or a nearby courier depot where available.
Cancelling the order for a full refund if a suitable solution cannot be reached.
