Now, almost 50 years later, the original Superstar drums have been revived as a Limited Edition model to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of TAMA Drums.

Superstar was the world’s first drum kit to utilize an all-Birch shell, producing the perfect sound for the emerging genres of the time – a sound that captivated the top drummers in the world. The groundbreaking 6-ply/9mm shell design was crucial to Superstar’s monumental success. Thicker than modern drums, these shells achieved powerful attack and deep low end. Honoring TAMA’s 50th Anniversary, the original shells, period correct shell hardware, and matching interior finish deliver a faithful reproduction of the original Superstar.

The 6ply/9mm All Birch Shell features a powerful attack and heavy mid-low tone. TAMA’s uniquely shaped bearing edge greatly contributed to this sound, receiving critical acclaim and setting TAMA apart from other drum sounds of the time.

This Reissue features the classic T-shaped TAMA emblem reproduced to exact original specifications.

REMO® AMBASSADOR Coated Drumheads

Every detail of the Superstar Reissue was considered, even down to the stock drumheads. Using all REMO® drumheads, the toms are outfitted with Coated Ambassador for both the top and bottom, and the bass drum comes with Coated Powerstroke 3 on the batter side and Coated Ambassador on the resonant side. The bass drum logo head features period correct design, completing the vintage look and sound.

PLEASE NOTE:

Some products are exceptionally large, heavy or bulky and require specialist freight services. This typically includes items such as large PA speakers, dual 15″ speaker cabinets, dual 18″ subwoofers, flight cases and other oversized or very heavy equipment.

We work hard to keep our prices as competitive as possible and, in most cases, delivery is completely covered by our standard shipping rates. However, for certain oversized items being delivered to regional or outlying areas, the actual courier cost can be significantly higher than standard deliveries. This is also owing to factors completely outside of our control (petrol costs and rising costs of delivery by courier partners)

If this applies to your order, we will always contact you before dispatch to discuss the available options. These may include:

Proceeding with a small additional freight contribution.
Collecting the order from one of our suppliers or a nearby courier depot where available.
Cancelling the order for a full refund if a suitable solution cannot be reached.
