The Universal Audio Volt 4P Max is the flagship model in the new Volt range, combining four full Tone Shaping mic preamps with onboard Max compression and expanded 12-in/6-out connectivity. It is built for bands, multi-mic recording, collaborative production and advanced content setups that need more analogue inputs without giving up UA’s fast, creator-friendly workflow.

Four Tone Shaping preamps

All four mic/line channels provide up to 60dB of digitally controlled gain and can use UA’s three Tone Shaping characters: Warmth for tube-inspired depth, Focus for controlled solid-state punch, and Shine for a more open British Class-A style sound. Independent 48V phantom power is available per channel.

Max Processing on a four-preamp interface

Max Processing adds six real-time compression presets tuned for vocals, guitars and bass, inspired by classic UA compressor designs including the 1176 and LA-2A. Combining Tone and Max gives you more than 18 source-shaping options, making it possible to commit to polished, musical sounds during tracking.

Built for larger sessions

Four rear mic/line combo inputs let you capture up to four microphone or line sources at once, while two front-panel Hi-Z inputs are ready for guitar and bass. ADAT or S/PDIF optical input allows digital expansion, including up to eight ADAT channels at 44.1/48kHz. MIDI In/Out connects controllers and synths, and the onboard USB hub can host a compatible peripheral.

Studio monitoring and communication

Main/Alt speaker switching lets you compare mixes across two monitor pairs. Two headphone outputs share one cue mix for collaboration, while the built-in talkback microphone keeps communication with performers simple. The Smart Display shows channel information, levels and Max gain reduction, with Auto-Gain and Clip Protection helping you set and maintain safe recording levels.

PLEASE NOTE:

Some products are exceptionally large, heavy or bulky and require specialist freight services. This typically includes items such as large PA speakers, dual 15″ speaker cabinets, dual 18″ subwoofers, flight cases and other oversized or very heavy equipment.

We work hard to keep our prices as competitive as possible and, in most cases, delivery is completely covered by our standard shipping rates. However, for certain oversized items being delivered to regional or outlying areas, the actual courier cost can be significantly higher than standard deliveries. This is also owing to factors completely outside of our control (petrol costs and rising costs of delivery by courier partners)

If this applies to your order, we will always contact you before dispatch to discuss the available options. These may include:

Proceeding with a small additional freight contribution.
Collecting the order from one of our suppliers or a nearby courier depot where available.
Cancelling the order for a full refund if a suitable solution cannot be reached.

Please be assured that we only request an additional freight contribution in exceptional circumstances where the courier cost is substantially higher than normal. Our goal is always to deliver your order at the advertised price whenever possible.
